Production of Hydrogen
Hydrogen has been known for it’s exquisite attributes for a long time now, it is fully compatible with all available logistics and infrastructure installations (e.g. gas stations, governmental VAT system, etc.) and can be used in various fields, like the chemical industry, oil refineries, petrochemicals and for transportation for example.
The market for hydrogen is currently around $120 billion a year and is estimated to be $150 billion in 2021. Today, the lowest production cost revolves around $6-15 per kg, depending on purity and utilization. However separating hydrogen from oxygen is quite an expensive process, as it usually consumes a high amount of electricity. These conventional methods like steam reforming – a reaction between methane and water to produce syngas, which contains hydrogen – or the water gas shift reaction – a reaction between carbon mono-oxide and water – all require a lot of energy, resulting in a high production cost.
The device that we are introducing here, is extremely cost effective and can be used for either batch productions or continuously. The production cost ist estimated to be below $0.5/kg.
The core process is a pure chemical reaction of cheap, easy available and non toxic components. An uniquely efficient low-cost solid reactant is used to split hydrogen and water. The right combination of all materials, result in a clean and affordable energy source of Hydrogen. The first prototypes have already successfully proven it´s operation.
The cost of this project concentrates on building an automated manufacturing line in order to produce hydrogen on a regular basis and to utilise it for energy production by on the market available fuel cells.
